A set of works developing during my final year of undergraduate study. This was part of a larger suite examining themes of tactilism, zoomorphism and the physical/philosophical transformation of non-human animals into objects.
Also featured are images from the ‘Decoy Project’ (2008) which was an exploration of the concept of the ‘doppelganger’ as an omen of death.
The final images are the photographic component of a body of work entitled ‘Numerology’ exploring the folklore of the magpie. The majority of the content for this project went on to form some of my first collage works, marking a decline in my use of lens based media in my practice for several years.
